Zoe Saldaña didn’t just walk the carpet at the Avatar: Fire & Ash premiere; she owned it. Making her grand return to the franchise’s press circuit, the actress stunned in a deep-green Saint Laurent gown that delivered equal parts danger and elegance.
The dress wrapped around her body like sculpted armor, creating the illusion of a Na’vi-meets–Hollywood warrior. A daring slit carved up one leg, the fabric clinging and falling in just the right places to show off Saldaña’s athletic build. She kept the look clean and modern with sleek, straight hair and minimal jewelry, letting the gown do all the talking. Take a look below:
Fans may be surprised to learn that Fire & Ash is a time capsule of sorts. Saldaña shot the movie several years ago, long before the world knew what was coming. Director James Cameron filmed multiple Avatar installments consecutively to keep his young cast consistent, which means the actors have been sitting on this chapter for the better part of a decade.
For Saldaña, finally getting to celebrate the movie feels like a long-awaited release. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, she said the wait is “the hardest part,” but emphasized that Cameron’s meticulous worldbuilding always pays off: “When you’re part of something this ambitious, you understand why it takes the time it takes.”
The actress has been visibly energized heading into premiere week, even posting a playful December 1 video set to Mariah Carey’s holiday anthem, dancing out of bed as she declared it Avatar premiere day.
After last night’s look, no one can blame her for the excitement. Saldaña walked into the Dolby Theatre like she’d been saving this moment for years.
BTW, Avatar: Fire and Ash is one of the best films of 2025. More on that later!
