Who’s ready for some domain drama? Squarespace is returning to the Big Game with its 12th Super Bowl campaign, and this time it’s leaning fully into cinematic tension. The brand has teamed up with Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos for a black-and-white spot titled “Unavailable,” airing between the first and second quarters of Super Bowl LX.
Shot on analogue film, the :30 follows Stone as she attempts to claim emmastone.com—only to learn the domain is already taken. What unfolds is a slow-burn spiral of frustration, suspense, and existential discomfort, turning something as mundane as domain ownership into a surprisingly emotional loss of identity. It’s minimal, tense, and unmistakably Lanthimos. Watch the extended version below:
“This commercial is based on true events. Having the opportunity to play myself in my own home was a joy and a memory I won’t soon forget, despite the pain that came rushing back. Thank you, Squarespace, for honoring my experience,” Stone deadpans.
The spot anchors a larger campaign exploring the real stakes of waiting too long to secure your digital name. Additional films include “The Negotiation,” which documents Stone’s increasingly desperate efforts to reclaim her domain, and “A Message from Emma Stone,” a PSA-style warning about procrastinating in a crowded digital landscape.
Squarespace’s core message is clear and timely: your domain is your foundation. In an online world where names are claimed fast and identities are fragile, securing your digital real estate early is no longer optional—it’s essential.
“We approach our Super Bowl spots like film rollouts,” said David Lee, Chief Brand and Creative Officer at Squarespace. “That mindset pushes us to create a fully-realized world that feels cinematic rather than commercial. This year, Emma’s emotional performance paired with Lanthimos’ meticulous direction delivers a story where the stakes are immediately clear.”
