Gossip: Is the “Man of Steel” flying to the small screen?

Stand down, Henry Cavill?

Up, up and away, Tyler Hoechlin?

Could be if Fandomwire.com is to be believed. According to the site, since Warner Bros has put the Superman’s big screen adventures on the back burner (not to mention cutting ties with Henry Cavill), there is now a possibility that he could be heading back to the small screen.

TV. Specifically the CW.

This would be the first time Superman has had his own series since Smallville went away from the CW in 2011. But with the “Arrowverse” thriving and the new DC Universe streaming service now live, it might make sense to give Supes the TV treatment again.

Tyler Hoechlin first appeared on Supergirl back in 2016 for a couple episodes. He’s also supposed to reprise his role in the “Arrowverse” crossover Elseworlds.

And with Supergirl possibly heading to the big screen, who knows if Melissa Benoist’s series will continue on the CW. There is also evidence as Superman and now Lois Lane and Lex Luthor are joining “The Girl of Steel.”

Hmm, so with Superman, Batwoman, Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, Atom and Black Lightning, could we soon be looking at a small screen Justice League?

Overall, Superman has enjoyed a rather healthy life on TV. The animated Superman series of the mid-nineties is still regarded as a classic. And fans fondly remember The Adventures of Lois and Clark, Smallville and even the old George Reeve’s Superman series.

Would you watch a Superman TV show on the CW?
