A model who says she was in a three-year relationship with Timothée Chalamet is speaking out, calling the actor’s subsequent romance with Kylie Jenner “disrespectful.”
Sarah Tena, 32, claims she and Chalamet, 30, were involved from 2020 to early 2023, describing the relationship as both romantic and rooted in friendship. According to Tena, the two remained in contact up until shortly before Chalamet was first linked to Jenner.
Tena told the Daily Mail that their final interaction came in early January 2023, when she wished him a happy birthday and he acknowledged the message. Just weeks later, Chalamet and Jenner were seen together publicly at Jean Paul Gaultier’s Paris Fashion Week show, with reports soon following that the two were spending time together.
“I did get down and a little sad about the whole thing,” Tena said. “I was like, ‘Wow I might not ever see him again,’ and when I had always felt so sure about him and I and it turned the complete opposite of that.”
She added that she believed their connection had been meaningful and lasting. “I never thought him and I would stop talking because we had that friendship also,” she said. “He’s changed.”
Tena also described Chalamet as “genuine” during their time together, noting that he showed interest in her personal life, including asking about her daughter. While she said she had strong feelings for him, she acknowledged she never directly told him she was in love.
Chalamet has been linked to Jenner since 2023, with their relationship continuing to draw attention across both entertainment and fashion circles. The couple has been spotted together at multiple high profile events, including awards shows and industry gatherings.
Earlier this year, Chalamet referenced Jenner during an acceptance speech at the Critics Choice Awards, thanking “my partner for three years” and adding, “I love you. I couldn’t do this without you.” The camera cut to Jenner in the audience, where she appeared to mouth “I love you” in response.
The actor has remained focused on his work during awards season, earning a Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for his role in Marty Supreme, though the category ultimately went to Michael B. Jordan for Sinners.
Neither Chalamet nor Jenner has publicly addressed Tena’s claims.
