The team at international production services company, The Roots, commemorated their first anniversary in its newly planted home, Mexico. The company opened their fourth office following years of success in Chile, Uruguay and Argentina where they brought production service solutions closer to international clients.

“I had wanted to open an office in Mexico for three years,” explains The Roots’ Founder/Executive Producer Ariel León Isacovitch. He adds, “U.S. clients had asked us to open an office in Mexico to offer service closer to them in Central America. It took me a little time because I wanted us to be embedded in the local community first, and to be able to deliver the same service standard clients are used to receiving from The Roots team. Last year, I found the perfect location and partner, and we launched the Mexico office. This was the best decision of the last few years. Our clients in the U.S. have really embraced shooting with our Mexico office. Together, we have had so much success over the past twelve months.”

For Alejandro Rossi, The Roots’ Production Service EP/Partner in Mexico, he is thinking about the past year: “Mexico is my home,” comments Rossi. “I have never seen such a service industry growth within just a few years. It has been an honor to be part of The Roots’ team in this market. We are amazed at how much we have achieved in such a short time.”

According to The Roots’ Isacovitch, the company has developed a unique working philosophy that all of its local crewmembers in Mexico absorbed quickly. “Disciplined processes create successful results,” he notes. “This makes the participating team proud of their contribution to every project. For our clients, who have come with us to Mexico, they have realized that there are very good production professionals in this market that make them feel very safe shooting here. This is one of the main components of the DNA of The Roots, that we as a company have shared with our Mexico team and our U.S.-based clients.”

REELated: Imagination appoints De Baecque new Production Director of Digital Content

Over the past two years during the Covid-19 Crisis, The team has prioritized innovation, offering clients solutions that enabled them to deliver exceptional work despite the uncertainty. The Roots Mexico remained fully operational the entirety of its first year, with recent projects including collaborations with Honey Bunches of Oats and Audible.

“The challenges and uncertainty, of the last two years has allowed us all to break our production behavioral cycles,” concludes Isacovitch. “In this no-borders, global crisis, I truly believe we all found some light. We were given possibilities to innovate in our line of thought and in our problem-solving process. This was very hard indeed. For me personally, I couldn’t travel to see my family for sixteen months. But professionally, we all came together and became stronger, creating possibilities for the future.”

Happy anniversary, Roots.
