The annual CAFM Holiday Hurrah happens Monday, December 12

The Chicago Acting In Film Meetup NFP (CAFM) will wrap up 2022 with a film industry party, fundraiser, and networking night, featuring raffle prizes, auction items, a $1,000 grand prize, and awards for your most creative holiday attire.

The event is open to the entire Chicago film production community and the general public.

The 14th Annual CAFM Holiday Hurrah happens Monday, December 12, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m at Carbon Arc Bar & Board, 4620 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago.

Admission tickets are $50 online through Friday, December 9, 2022. The admission price includes networking with other party attendees, a free drink from 7-8 followed by a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and pizzas from Carbon Arc.

To purchase all tickets online, and for more details, including the COVID-19 protocols, visit cafmhh14.eventbrite.com.

“We’re grateful to celebrate CAFM’s 15th year in Chicago with another fun December event,” says CAFM Board President Steve Scholz.  “And we hope that filmmakers, film actors, film fans, and film industry folks will join us for our first in-person holiday party in three years!”

Since 2007, CAFM has helped Chicago’s film actors co-mentor each other and connect with the film production community at large.  Along with their members-only monthly educational events, they have held public and industry events including Summer Socials, CIMMFest panels, and an Actors Clothing Swap.  They have hosted the Chicago Creatives Cocktail Party “Happy Hours” events and the A.C.E. (Arts, Culture, and Entertainment) event at The Underground with Billy Dec, and sponsored tables at the IFA Block Party and the 2022 CAST Convention.  The group has also volunteered with Church of Our Saviour’s Food For Friends program, and raised funds for other nonprofit charities including Care for Real, Hephzibah Children’s Association, Peace On Earth Film Festival, and The Woolgathering Project.

For this fundraiser, CAFM is again offering “10 Minutes With” Top Chicago Talent Agents and Casting Directors plus sports tickets as auction items. Raffle prizes include coaching for actors, handmade jewelry, theater tickets, and restaurant gift cards.  Plus, attendees can win prizes just for being the Best Dressed Guest or wearing the Ugliest Holiday Sweater.

“We had a fun time awarding prizes for creative Zoom users last winter,” says CAFM Board Vice President & Treasurer Valerie Querns. “So we hope everyone will share their holiday spirit in person this December.  And you just might wrap up your holiday shopping with all the prizes we’re giving away, including our $1,000 Grand Prize!”

Proceeds from the event will help fund CAFM’s ongoing educational work, special industry events, and giving back outreach.

“We’re proud to celebrate another wonderful year for Chicago’s film community,” says Scholz.  “So get dressed up on Monday, December 12th and mingle with some of the smartest working actors in Chicago.  We’ll even buy your first drink.  We throw one of the most fun parties in town, and we’d love to see you there!”
