Station Film has named Francesco Soru Executive Producer, elevating a versatile production talent who has collaborated with the company’s roster for the past five years. Soru has produced projects with Station directors Declan Whitebloom, Thomas Beug, Seyi Peter-Thomas, and Brendan Gibbons, and now steps into a staff role to deepen director partnerships, develop innovative work, and strengthen agency and client relationships.
“Station is a perfect fit for me,” said Soru. “With Stephen Orent and Caroline Gibney running the company, it is amazing to watch them in action and learn from them. I also like the family sensibility at Station where nurturing is second nature, be it with talent, agency or client relationships.”
“Francesco was a natural choice for us,” said Stephen Orent, Founding Partner, Station Film. “Working so closely with him the past five years it was clear he was the one. He brings all the intangibles that are near and dear to Caroline and me. He is charismatic, warm, energetic, thoughtful and a people person. We are excited to see him thrive.”
“He is also the epitome of grace under fire,” added Founding Partner Caroline Gibney. “That is a rare and great quality to find.”
Soru likens producing to solving a complex puzzle. “My mind will not allow me to focus on a single task without immediately losing focus,” he said. “Having ten, twenty or fifty things to focus on at the same time allows me to calmly juggle them all.”
Soru entered production right out of college, beginning with an internship at Red Car Editorial and rising through the New York commercial ranks at Biscuit, Reset, First Ave Machine, and Smuggler. He has also produced direct-to-client work with Paris-based agency Mazarine for luxury and culture brands, including Chanel. His brand experience includes Tom Ford, Home Depot, Nike, ESPN, NerdWallet, GM, and Prudential, among others.
A first-generation Italian American born and raised in Brooklyn, and a father of three, Soru credits hard work and family as central to his approach, values he says he found at Station. “Station’s approach is about enduring relationships, always with creative and production excellence.”
Reel 360 News wishes Francesco the best of luck.
