Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer gets ’90s style animated remix

Spider-Man
(Remember ’90s Spider-Man?)

Happy Friday from Reel 360! The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home broke the 24-hour all-time record for most global views with a whopping 355.5 million, snapping to dust the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame, which drove 289 million views.

Now, if you are a kid of the ’90s, there’s a good chance you were a fan of Spider-Man: The Animated series. Running on Fox Kids for 5 seasons before finishing up in 1998, the show still holds up and features one of the most comic-accurate depictions of the Webhead and his various foes. Coupled with the animated X-Men, this was a spectacular way to spend a Saturday morning.

YouTuber 100BombsStudios has given the footage an animated makeover using shots from the ’90s series. Most of the scenes are taken from the season 3 premiere, Doctor Strange, but other episodes featuring the likes of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and the Lizard are also utilized to great effect.

THWACK! That hit the spot. A synopsis has also been released for the movie, though it doesn’t give much away!

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero,” it reads. “When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”

The Reel 360 Team is ready for Peter Parker’s craziest adventure yet. Spider-Man: No Way Home opens December 17.
