Amazon MGM Studios is officially firing up the Schwartz. A new Spaceballs movie is underway with Rick Moranis, Daphne Zuniga, Bill Pullman, Mel Brooks, and George Wyner all returning to their iconic roles. Joining the mission: Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, and Anthony Carrigan in brand-new characters (identities locked behind an industrial-strength Schwartz shield).
Director Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) is at the helm, working from a script by Benji Samit & Dan Hernandez (Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy; TMNT: Mutant Mayhem) and Josh Gad. The film is currently in production and is slated to be released in theaters in 2027.
The studio also shared a first look from the official table read, bringing together the OGs, the new cast, and the creative brain trust. (Photo courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios.)
