Lara Croft is officially back in action. Prime Video has revealed the first look at Sophie Turner as the iconic adventurer Lara Croft, marking the start of production on its highly anticipated Tomb Raider series from Amazon MGM Studios.
The newly released image shows Turner in full Croft mode, armed, battle-ready, and unmistakably channeling the legendary video game heroine. Captured on the backlot of the production stages, the image leans into classic Tomb Raider iconography while signaling a tougher, more grounded take on the character.
The Prime Video series is based on the globally beloved Tomb Raider franchise, which follows the globe-trotting exploits of the brilliant archaeologist-adventurer as she navigates ancient ruins, deadly puzzles, and enemies who never stay politely defeated.
Turner leads an impressive ensemble cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.
The series comes from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner, alongside Chad Hodge. Jonathan Van Tulleken directs and executive produces, bringing additional cinematic weight to the adaptation.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, and Story Kitchen, the series also counts Legendary Television among its producing partners. With a creative team stacked with genre and prestige-TV veterans, Tomb Raider is shaping up to be one of Prime Video’s most ambitious franchise swings yet.
