Apparently, a Super Bowl commercial isn’t weird enough unless it shows up at your house. SKITTLES is ditching the screen entirely this Big Game and delivering its Super Bowl ad straight to a fan’s front door, live, in person, and starring Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings, Yellowjackets). In a first-of-its-kind stunt, the Mars-owned candy brand is transforming its Big Game spot into a real-world performance that can’t be skipped, muted, or politely ignored.
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, one lucky fan will receive a surprise knock as Wood appears at their doorstep to perform the SKITTLES commercial live, candy in hand. The activation celebrates SKITTLES’ home delivery partnership with Philly-based instant commerce platform Gopuff, turning the idea of “on-demand” advertising into something delightfully absurd.
The concept imagines a magical horn that summons a mysterious creature — played by Wood — who materializes to deliver SKITTLES on command. While most people don’t own enchanted horns, SKITTLES is making the fantasy real for one unsuspecting household by delivering not just snacks, but the ad itself.
If this sounds completely on brand, it is. SKITTLES has spent the past several years redefining what a Super Bowl ad even is.
In 2019, the brand famously staged Skittles Broadway, a Broadway musical parody starring Michael C. Hall, during the Super Bowl instead of airing a traditional TV spot. And in 2018, SKITTLES produced a full Super Bowl commercial starring David Schwimmer that never aired, instead promoting the idea of an unseen ad as the ad itself. Both were created by DDB Chicago.
“SKITTLES has always delivered deliciously perplexing experiences to fans, but this year we’re bringing the unexpected to fans on game day,” said Gabrielle Wesley, Chief Marketing Officer, Mars Snacking North America. “Snack selection is nearly as important as the Big Game, so we’re excited to give fans a chance to summon SKITTLES, a live commercial, and yes — Elijah Wood too.”
Fans can enter for a chance to win the live doorstep commercial by visiting DeliverTheRainbow.com, where details for the contest are available. The brand is also offering a Big Game Bundle via Gopuff, allowing fans to lock in their game-day candy lineup ahead of kickoff.
