She Runs It has unveiled the findings of its 6th Annual #Inclusive100 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Survey. Alongside the survey results, the organization has introduced a new, streamlined application tailored to the needs of the marketing, media and ad tech industries for the year 2024.
The #Inclusive100 initiative, initiated in 2017, has been instrumental in assessing and advancing inclusion and diversity efforts across various sectors. With approximately 50 companies participating in the initiative, #Inclusive100 utilizes the rigorous Seramount Inclusion Index as a standard-setting corporate DEI benchmark.
The latest survey results reveal both encouraging developments and persistent challenges within the industry. Positive trends include an increase in women ascending to C-Suite positions, greater representation of Black and Hispanic/Latine talent, and a higher percentage of companies implementing diverse interview slates for hiring.
However, concerning statistics persist, such as the underrepresentation of women in the industry compared to pre-pandemic levels, gender pay disparities remain an issue, and lower participation of women and minorities in mentoring programs.
Looking ahead to 2024, She Runs It has revamped its survey tool, reducing the number of questions from 300 to 100 while adding segmentation capabilities. This enhancement allows marketers to compare their progress with competitors, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of DEI efforts within the industry. Over 50 companies have already committed to utilizing the revamped survey tool, with the potential for segmented data comparisons if seven companies per sector complete it.

Under the #Inclusive100 commitment, consortium participants pledge to engage in three key actions: participating in the Seramount Inclusion Index, attending quarterly roundtable discussions, and implementing policies and programs aimed at recruiting, retaining, and advancing diverse talent.
“The beauty of #Inclusive100 is that it serves as a roadmap for companies that sincerely want to pursue progress against DEI goals,” said Lynn Branigan, President & CEO of She Runs It. “The survey itself surfaces proven best practices, and the quarterly roundtables are packed with shared ideas and repeatable practices that people can take back to work and put into action. The best part? Participation is free.”
The introduction of the streamlined application for 2024 marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusion within the marketing, media, and ad tech industries. As companies continue to prioritize DEI initiatives, the #Inclusive100 initiative stands as a beacon of progress and collaboration in pursuit of a more inclusive workplace culture.
Branigan added: “The new Seramount Marketing, Media & Ad Tech Inclusion Index is tailored for our industry and streamlined for easier completion. We are encouraged to see that more than 50 companies have already signed up. And if seven companies per sector complete it, the data can be segmented, making it the first research of its kind to provide apples-to-apples comparisons for our industry – allowing a company to know how it compares to similar organizations.”
