Shazam! Fury of the Gods has screened for a very lucky select few critics and while it is unknown when the official review embargo will be lifted, those who have viewed the film have been taking to social media to share their early reactions now that the social media embargo has been lifted.

The trailers from the DC Studios sequel feature plenty of action, as Billy and his fellow Shazam Family members face off against the evil the Daughters of Atlas, played by Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler.

While Fury of the Gods seems to retain the overall fun tone of the original, it also seems like with an older Billy, that the film is raising the stakes.

The official synopsis says: Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
