Yes, we’ve got two Reel Ads of the Week, and this one slices through nostalgia like a sharpened hook. Sarah Michelle Gellar, the original scream queen, is back in the spotlight—this time, delivering campy charm and clever self-awareness in a killer new Uber One ad.
Created by South Carolina agency, Hello, the spot reunites Gellar with The Fisherman, her infamous nemesis from I Know What You Did Last Summer, as they hilariously debate the perks of Uber One. Yep, she’s back… still dead, but saving money.
The timing is delicious. Gellar’s surprise return as Helen Shivers in Sony Pictures’ new I Know What You Did Last Summer film has fans buzzing, and this campaign rides that wave with effortless synergy. Shot while she was living in Australia during her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.’s filming schedule, the spot leans into real-life details—turns out she really was Ubering and Uber Eats’ing her way through Rose Bay.
“I wasn’t lying – I’m back, but I’m still dead,” she says with a wink in the ad. And the savings? Also real. Gellar jokes that Uber showed her exactly how much she could’ve saved as a member. Spoiler alert: it was a lot. Watch below:
Directed with a playful nod to horror tropes and fan service, the ad follows recent Uber One campaigns starring Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams and Happy Gilmore’s Chris McDonald. But this one may take the crown.

Fun, clever, and self-referential without being cringey, it’s proof that horror and humor still pair well, especially when the popcorn (and the Uber ride to the theater) is discounted.
Consider me slayed.
