Sabrina Carpenter is officially an Emmy winner. The singer and actress picked up her first Emmy Saturday night as The Muppet Show won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Carpenter served as an executive producer on the Disney+ special and also performed in it, making the win another major milestone in a year that has already included two Grammy Awards.
Following the ceremony, Carpenter celebrated the victory on Instagram Stories, sharing photos with two of the franchise’s most recognizable stars, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.
“So incredibly proud of the whole Muppets crew on our Emmy wins,” Carpenter wrote.
“A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special.”
Apparently, working with Miss Piggy comes with certain production realities.
The special had plenty to celebrate.
The Muppet Show won four of its six nominations during Night One of the Creative Arts Emmys:
- Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded)
- Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special
- Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming
- Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special
The wins marked a strong return for the beloved franchise and gave Carpenter her first Emmy as an executive producer.

In the Variety Special category, The Muppet Show competed against a field that included Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, putting Carpenter up against her longtime friend and fellow pop superstar.
Carpenter now has both Emmy and Grammy Awards to her name, putting her two awards into the traditional four-part EGOT combination of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
But for now, she seems more interested in celebrating the Muppets.
And surviving the diva fights.
