Independent agency R&R Partners, known for its bold problem-solving and partnership-driven approach, has announced the addition of Mayumi Tatsuta as Group Creative Director.
With more than 25 years of experience leading award-winning global campaigns for brands including Dove, Apple TV+, Google, Meta, Marriott, and Pantene, Tatsuta brings both creative firepower and mentorship to R&R’s growing creative leadership team.
Before joining R&R, Tatsuta served as Group Creative Director at Michael B. Jordan’s ObsidianWorks and Jellyfish, where she developed campaigns for Target and Apple TV+, and helped pioneer AI-driven storytelling for L’Oréal, Google, and Japan Airlines.
Her career has spanned key creative leadership roles at Cashmere/Media.Monks, VaynerMedia, Grey, and mcgarrybowen, producing culturally resonant work for Reebok, Chase, Johnson & Johnson, and Procter & Gamble’s beauty portfolio—including Pantene, Covergirl, and Herbal Essences.
A native New Yorker who landed her first ad job in high school, Tatsuta describes her approach as “part science, part feeling, and a healthy dose of creative chaos.” She credits mentorship as the heartbeat of her leadership philosophy.
“When I first met Mayumi, I was struck by how deeply she connected with R&R’s mission,” said Chuck Monn, Chief Creative Officer at R&R Partners. “She shares our belief that great creative starts with understanding the real problem a client faces and chasing that truth to its most powerful solution. Her creativity, strategy, and mentorship will supercharge our healthcare group and elevate our entire agency.”
Outside of advertising, Tatsuta is a food-obsessed traveler and storyteller who writes screenplays, produces horror shorts, and is developing a podcast spotlighting BIPOC creative voices.
Reel 360 News wishes Mayumi the best of luck in her new role.
