Rodeo Show signs directing Duo Him & Her

Rodeo Show

Rodeo Show has added of Him & Her, the dynamic directing duo comprising Kevin Zacher and Christa Renee, to their roster for representation in the US market.

Known for their evocative commercials for brands such as San Diego Tourism, Burger King, McDonald’s, Verizon, Sony, and Chase, Him & Her bring a unique blend of slice-of-life moments, natural aesthetics, and pop culture references to their work.

The duo’s creative synergy is deeply rooted in their contrasting yet complementary backgrounds. Renee hails from California’s misty Central Coast, while Zacher originates from Arizona’s rugged landscapes. This diverse Western upbringing is evident in their cinematic vignettes, which are imbued with nostalgia, warmth, and a sense of adventure.

“The creative harmony that Him and Her bring to the director’s chair is a welcome addition to the Rodeo Show roster,” remarks Katie Walker, Executive Producer at Rodeo Show. “Kevin and Christa each have their own eclectic styles and skill sets that have enabled them to flourish in the commercial space individually. But when they team up, something magical happens – a beautiful dance that builds on their strengths as artists. They also have a battle-tested shorthand that our clients will appreciate, whether they’re bouncing ideas off each other to elevate the creative, prepping extensively for a shoot, or swiftly tackling a production challenge on set.”

Renee and Zacher’s transition to directing followed successful careers in commercial and fine art photography. Their combined experience as live-action directors and still photographers allows them to create an inclusive and harmonious on-set environment, ensuring visual consistency across all campaign deliverables.

“At our core, we are visual storytellers, and commercials are a medium where we can bring our worldview as artists, parents, and consumers to help brands reach audiences in fresh ways,” remarks Zacher. “That’s our sweet spot; trusting our instincts and allowing those honest yet impressionistic human moments to come out as naturally as possible without being overly scripted.”

Renee, a graduate of the Art Center College of Design, has been passionate about photography since childhood. Her diverse portfolio spans portraiture, advertising, fashion, and travel, reflecting her spirit of wanderlust and dedication to family bonding and motherhood. She has worked with clients like Apple, Nike, Chase, Abercrombie & Fitch, Holiday Inn, Quicksilver, and Target. Her accolades include being a PDN 30 recipient, with work honored by American Photo and Communication Arts.

Zacher’s career began as a snowboard photographer, capturing the action for magazines and brands like Burton Snowboards. His adventurous spirit eventually led him to campaigns for major consumer brands such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Verizon, Sony, and Anheuser-Busch. His work has been recognized by American Photo, PDN, Communication Arts, and the Telus Ski and Snowboard Music Festival Photographer Showdown.

“Family is important to both me and Kevin, personally, and Rodeo Show and their reps align with those values on a professional level,” concludes Renee. “They took a chance on us earlier in our career when we transitioned to the director’s chair, and they’ve been nothing but supportive and loyal to us as friends and collaborators ever since. We are thrilled to build on our relationship through this signing.”

Him & Her’s unique vision and storytelling prowess are set to bring a fresh perspective to Rodeo Show’s offerings, promising exciting new creative endeavors ahead.
