#ReleaseTheSnyderCut takes over Comic-Con

Justice-league

There are those who believe the Apollo 11 landing was fake. There are others who believe the world is flat and covered by a dome.

Then there are those, the very devoted fans of director Zack Snyder, who believe his one-time film before he departed, Justice League, has another version.

Snyder’s cut.

The cut he had before Joss Whedon came aboard and reshot most of the film.

This November, it will be two years since Justice League flopped. Snyder left the film in May 2017, following a family tragedy. Although he had completed principal photography, Avengers director Joss Whedon was brought in to oversee extensive rewrites and reshoots, as well as post-production.

Since the release, there have been rumors of a better original cut and rabid DC fans still demand to see. The story goes that Snyder had screened a version of Justice League to WB execs before his departure, but it’s unclear in what state that cut was in.

Snyder himself fanned the flames recently by stating that “there is a cut,” while last month storyboard artist Jay Olivia revealed there were “multiple cuts of Zack’s film.” During San Diego Comic-Con, in order to get Warner Bros.’ (who is not attending) attention, fans have bought billboard space and now taken to the air to demand Warner Bros releases it.

Now a small plane was spotted flying above the convention, trailing a banner behind it that reads “WB #ReleasetheSnyderCut of Justice League.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plane and sign were hired from the San Diego company FlySigns by “a private citizen,” and will have cost $1,170.

The DC movie universe is absent from this year’s SDCC. However, the studio’s TV output features extensively, including panels focusing on The CW’s range of DC shows, and an event showcasing some of DC Universe’s upcoming series.
