PinkPantheress didn’t just perform at Coachella. She threw herself a birthday party and invited half the industry.
During weekend two at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Boy’s a liar Pt. 2 artist packed her Mojave tent set with a rotating lineup of surprise guests, turning an already high-energy performance into one of the weekend’s most stacked moments.
Zara Larsson made a highly anticipated appearance, performing solo before hinting at future collaboration, while Janelle Monáe joined briefly on guitar. The set continued to build with appearances from DJ Ninajirachi, Slayyyter, Blood Orange, Chase Infiniti, and Manon, creating a constant stream of cameos.
Actor Tyriq Withers once again played a central role in the performance, weaving in and out of the set before delivering the night’s defining moment.
Midway through the show, Withers paused the music to call attention to the occasion. “I really had something important to say. I know it’s Coachella, shoutout Coachella, but a birdie told me that it is your birthday,” he said, handing PinkPantheress a rose as dancers revealed a “Happy Birthday” sign and the crowd erupted.
The two embraced before exiting the stage hand in hand, closing the moment on a note that felt more personal than performative.
Beyond the spectacle, PinkPantheress delivered a full run of fan favorites including Stateside, Romeo, Boy’s a liar Pt. 2, and Illegal, proving that even with a parade of guests, the set still belonged to her.
At a festival defined by surprise appearances, PinkPantheress managed to stand out by turning hers into something more.
Not just a cameo parade.
A full celebration.
