BAM! Lucasfilm has dropped a full trailer and new poster for The Mandalorian and Grogu, giving fans their most expansive look yet at Din Djarin and his Force-sensitive apprentice’s leap to the big screen.
After skipping a Super Bowl trailer debut in favor of a tongue-in-cheek TV spot, Disney and Lucasfilm finally delivered the goods, and the footage is packed with Hutts, Imperial remnants, deep-cut bounty hunters, and a surprising amount of Pedro Pascal’s actual face.
Set in the aftermath of the Empire’s fall, the film finds the New Republic struggling to maintain order as warlords remain scattered across the galaxy. To help stabilize the chaos, the fledgling government recruits legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and Grogu, now operating as a full-fledged Clan of Two.
The trailer confirms the duo is officially working for the New Republic, tracking down Imperial holdouts and criminal power players, including Jeremy Allen White’s Rotta the Hutt, who makes his on-screen debut in muscular, fully realized form. The footage also teases the presence of additional Hutts and other galactic underworld figures. Watch below:
There are blink-and-you ’ll-miss-them appearances from familiar faces and species, including Zeb Orrelios flying for the New Republic, a Kyuzo bounty hunter, the diminutive Anzellans, and an Ardennian fry cook voiced by Martin Scorsese. Yes, that Martin Scorsese.
One of the trailer’s biggest talking points is Din Djarin without his helmet. Multiple shots show Pascal fully unmasked, raising major questions about how and why he has once again broken his creed. The footage suggests the Hutt twins may be involved, forcing Din into a decision that challenges his identity as a Mandalorian.
Grogu remains the emotional core. The trailer balances signature cuteness with a more poignant thread as Din appears to be preparing his son for a future in which he may no longer be around. Given Grogu’s long lifespan, the film hints at generational stakes that extend far beyond blaster fights and bounty hunts.
Originally conceived by Jon Favreau as a fourth season of The Mandalorian, the story has evolved into a theatrical event. The scale reflects that shift. The action feels larger, the creatures more cinematic and the galaxy wider.
Directed by Favreau, the film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt. Producers include Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni and Ian Bryce, with music by Ludwig Göransson.
An all-new poster featuring the Clan of Two was also unveiled alongside the trailer, emphasizing the bond at the heart of the franchise.
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters May 22, marking the first time the duo blast onto the big screen. For fans who wondered whether this chapter warranted a theatrical release, the trailer makes a clear statement.
This is no side quest. It is the next evolution.
