Patrick Mahomes sidesteps NFL restrictions in Coors Light spot

Patrick Mahomes has found another way around the NFL’s ban on active players endorsing alcoholic beverages. In “Mahomeses,” a new Coors Light campaign from Mischief @ No Fixed Address, the three-time Super Bowl champion swaps places with Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet.

Stonestreet steps in as Mahomes, complete with sunglasses, swagger, and quarterback attitude, while the real Mahomes takes a seat behind the camera in the director’s chair. Stonestreet’s impression of Mahomes gives the campaign a natural comedic engine, while Mahomes’ move behind the camera keeps him central to the spot without crossing the line.

The spot was directed by Pete Marquis and produced through Good Behavior, marking Marquis’ fifth collaboration with Mahomes for Coors Light and Mischief. Watch below:

Their run began with “The Flashlight” in 2022, which promoted a Coors-branded flashlight. That was followed by “The Bear” in 2023, introducing the Coors Light Bear; “The Time Capsule” in 2024, featuring a commercial buried until Mahomes retires; and “The Patrick Plunge” in 2025, centered on a cold plunge shaped like Mahomes’ head.

Each campaign has leaned into the same playful workaround: Mahomes may not be able to directly endorse the beer, but he can apparently endorse just about everything surrounding it.

The campaign is also being supported by a limited-edition poster release, including versions signed by Stonestreet and Mahomes. Proceeds will benefit Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.
