Gan Jing World (GJW) debuted its first exclusive North American original, the animated feature Mina, on September 12 across the GJW+ streaming service and the newly launched Gan Jing Kids platform, following a successful limited theatrical run.
Positioned as a modern fairytale for families, Mina blended comedy, adventure, and a values-forward message. The story followed a determined princess abducted by a powerful sorcerer. While her bookish fiancé set off on a perilous quest to save her, Mina refused to wait, rallying fellow captives and engineering her own escape. The film highlighted courage, empathy, and self-reliance without sidelining teamwork or heart. Watch the trailer below:
GJW CEO Dr. Sherry Yin said the company selected Mina to lead its original slate because her optimism and character-driven virtues aligned with GJW’s mission to elevate positive, age-appropriate storytelling at a time when families were seeking healthier online spaces. She described Princess Mina as resilient and other-minded, a role model who encouraged friends through adversity.
“Princess Mina embodies resilience and independence. She not only stands strong on her own but also lovingly guides her friends through challenges, always putting their needs before her own,” noted Dr. Yin. “This compassionate spirit perfectly reflects Gan Jing Kids2’ mission to nurture kindness, respect, and positive values in every child.”
Produced by Magic Frame Pictures and Creation Entertainment Media, the feature was directed by Alex Tsitsilin (The Snow Queen franchise), written by Analisa LaBianco (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) and Jeffery Spencer (Secret Magic Control Agency), and featured voice performances by Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld, Dan Edwards, and Vanessa Johansson. Sefi Carmel composed the original score.

Magic Frame’s Lidia Chirita noted that Mina drew from the spirit of beloved fairytales while introducing fresh characters from varied cultural backgrounds, larger-than-life settings, eye-catching VFX, and plenty of action—delivered with a contemporary sensibility.
Beginning September 12, Mina streamed exclusively in North America on GJW+ and Gan Jing Kids via subscription and rental. Gan Jing Kids, billed as a values-based, kid-safe destination, curates programming with a multilayer safety approach and a curriculum-informed focus on storytelling, language, cognitive growth, and early STEM learning.
