Nevermore is back: ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 teaser

Wednesday

Get ready to snap twice — Wednesday is back. Netflix just dropped the teaser and first-look photos for Season 2 of its hit supernatural series, with Jenna Ortega reprising her Emmy-winning role as the razor-sharp Wednesday Addams. The new season will arrive in two parts, with Part 1 premiering August 6 and Part 2 following on September 3.

This time, the stakes — and the sarcasm — are higher. As Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy, she finds herself surrounded by new secrets, returning enemies, and worst of all… her family. Joining her on campus are Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán), and younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), who begins his own journey into supernatural adolescence.

“Wednesday runs circles around everyone she meets,” Ortega says. “To step back into her shoes — or combat boots — is endlessly fun. She’s one of the coolest characters of all time.” Watch the trailer below:

New Faces, Darker Mysteries

Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar promise an expanded scope in Season 2. “You’ll see more of Nevermore, more of the supporting characters, and a deeper dive into Wednesday’s world,” Gough teases. “But nothing is what it seems.”

Tim Burton returns as executive producer and director, joined by some big new names. Steve Buscemi joins the cast as Nevermore’s new principal Barry Dort, replacing the late Principal Weems. And Joanna Lumley makes a scene-stealing debut as Grandmama Hester Frump, Morticia’s wildly eccentric mother and Wednesday’s unlikely confidante.

“Joanna was born to play Hester,” Millar says. “She brings a delicious energy to the series that fans are going to love.”

Fan Favorites Return

Of course, familiar faces are back too — including Emma Myers as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Hunter Doohan as Tyler (still locked up…for now), Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester, and the ever-loyal Thing. Even a fresh tango moment for Morticia and Gomez is in the cards. “We really leaned into the family dynamics this season,” says Millar. “It’s emotional torture — which is exactly what Wednesday would hate the most.”

Season 2 picks up after the jaw-dropping finale of Season 1, where Tyler’s true identity as a murderous Hyde shattered Wednesday’s already fragile trust. “She thinks she knows what’s coming,” says Millar, “but she has no idea what awaits at Nevermore this time.”

The teaser reveals glimpses of new locations, cryptic clues, and plenty of new threats — magical and emotional. Pugsley, now a full-fledged Nevermore student, is also discovering strange new powers of his own.
