Netflix claims “We’re not ready” for what’s next

Netflix

Consider the Reel 360 News blown away. There are spots we like. Spots we love and then there is the creative Netflix delivered yesterday. Mind blown. We weren’t ready!

Netflix’s latest brand campaign isn’t just teasing what’s next—it’s pulling audiences straight into the action. The streaming giant’s newest film, You’re Not Ready, is a high-energy, three-minute thrill ride through its 2025 lineup.

More than just a sizzle reel, the spot—directed by Megaforce in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy Portland—blends iconic Netflix titles into one cinematic journey that mirrors the excitement of diving into a great story.

A New Kind of Teaser

The streaming giant’s “Next on Netflix” campaign kicks off with You’re Not Ready, a long-form preview that introduces audiences to a sneak peek of upcoming content while hiding Easter eggs throughout. The ad stars a weary office worker stuck in a dull corporate meeting.

Desperate for excitement, she sneaks a glance at Netflix on her phone. What follows is a whirlwind adventure that thrusts her into the heart of Netflix’s most anticipated shows and movies, dodging lasers, running from monsters, and exploring an array of vibrant worlds.

Our hero travels through the universes of Stranger Things, Squid Game, Wednesday, Emily in Paris, Cobra Kai, Happy Gilmore 2, and many more. The spot packs in 26 different Netflix properties, giving superfans and internet detectives plenty to analyze. Watch the 2:51 creative below:

“To celebrate the exciting year ahead, we wanted to create something truly special,” said Netflix Chief Marketing Officer Marian Lee. “Instead of a traditional sizzle reel, this campaign invites fans to experience the thrill of watching Netflix—the anticipation of never knowing what will happen next.”

Seamless Storytelling

To ensure a smooth transition between worlds, W+K and Megaforce tapped editor Adriana Legay of Final Cut, blending a unique mix of VFX and practical effects in postproduction. The campaign also features a custom score by composer Joseph Alexander, who masterfully weaves together elements of Netflix’s most recognizable theme music into a cohesive, cinematic soundscape.

Netflix’s You’re Not Ready campaign extends beyond the hero film, with shorter 60- and 30-second versions rolling out globally alongside digital activations and out-of-home placements. As the final tagline suggests—You’re Not Ready For What’s Next—this campaign is just the beginning of Netflix’s ambitious slate for 2025.

With an immersive, fast-paced, and Easter egg-filled teaser, Netflix has redefined what a streaming preview can be. One thing’s for sure: audiences won’t want to look away. They’re not ready.
