Prime Video is taking “home game” very literally. Ahead of the second season of NBA on Prime, the streamer has launched a new campaign featuring Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brunson, LaMelo Ball, Cade Cunningham, Paolo Banchero and Tyrese Maxey turning an ordinary living room into a full-blown NBA court.
Created by Prime Video and DLP and directed by Max Gutierrez, the 45-second spot, titled “Home Game,” uses the chaos of basketball being played inside someone’s house to sell a simple idea: Prime brings fans closer to the action.
So close, apparently, that the action may destroy the furniture.
The players tear through the room as Blake Griffin, Udonis Haslem and Taylor Rooks provide commentary, treating the domestic setting like any other NBA arena. The visual gag is straightforward but effective. Instead of telling viewers that streaming brings basketball into their homes, Prime stages the game right there between the couch and fireplace. Watch below:
“Building on the momentum of our first NBA on Prime season, we set out to tell a story every fan could feel – the idea that with Prime, the NBA doesn’t just come to your screen; it comes to your home,” said Stacey Rosenson, Head of U.S. Sports Marketing at Prime Video.
Rosenson said the concept also gave the team a way to connect one of Amazon’s most familiar ideas — delivery – with live basketball. That connection becomes particularly useful as Prime Video heads into a significantly expanded second NBA season.
The 2026-27 slate includes 67 regular-season and Emirates NBA Cup games, beginning October 23 with a doubleheader featuring the defending champion New York Knicks against the Boston Celtics, followed by the Houston Rockets taking on the San Antonio Spurs.
Prime Video will also carry the Emirates NBA Cup Championship, the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, select playoff games and, for the first time, exclusive coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The streamer is also continuing to build out its surrounding basketball coverage, with pregame, halftime, and postgame programming originating from Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City.
That makes “Home Game” more than a season-launch spot. It is also part of Prime Video’s broader effort to establish itself as a regular NBA destination rather than simply another place to catch an occasional game.
And as sports marketing ideas go, this one understands the assignment. No elaborate metaphor. No inspirational monologue. Just a bunch of NBA stars playing basketball where absolutely nobody should be.
Mom would be furious.
