Modern Post editor William Town wins VMA for Tate McRae

Modern Post is celebrating a significant win at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. Founding editor William Town captured the Best Editing award for Just Keep Watching from Tate McRae, which also took home the Song of the Summer award.

Known for fusing stylized visuals with precise rhythm and sound, Town is one of today’s most in-demand editors across music and fashion. His credits span standout videos for M.I.A., Miley Cyrus, Tate McRae, Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, and Charli XCX—whose Von Dutch earned a Grammy nomination. He also cut Mugler’s award-winning Alien Hypersense, and most recently edited Jealous Type, the lead single from Doja Cat’s forthcoming album Vie.

Just Keep Watching unfolds like a glossy performance short with a Formula 1 pulse. Tate McRae commands the frame inside a high-intensity training space—all lab-grade surfaces, rushes of air, and chrome-meets-neon details—snapping through precision choreography amid car-culture visuals: helmets, spinning tires, slick oil, track markers.

The cutting pushes a sense of velocity, weaving her moves with driver drills and sequences that mimic G-forces, so it feels like a pop video fused to a pre-race warm-up. The result is equal parts sultry and athletic—and perfectly aligned with the track’s F1 tie-in. Watch below:

Beyond music, Town’s work includes acclaimed campaigns for Vogue, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Equinox, and Zara.

Town began his career at photo and production agency Art Partner in Paris before joining Baron & Baron in New York, where he rose to lead the agency’s in-house film department. In 2014, he founded Modern Post, growing it into a full-service creative powerhouse with a distinctive roster of editors, colorists, and producers.
