Millie Bobby Brown joins Netflix’s Russo film

Netflix has picked up AGBO’s The Electric State, an adaptation of the illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag. Set in a retro-futuristic past, an orphaned teenager (Millie Bobby Brown) traverses the American West with a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother.

Millie Bobby Brown, star of Stranger Things and Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong will star. Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame) will direct from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The Electric State continues the Russo Brothers and AGBO’s successful partnership with Netflix following the 2020 release of Chris Hemsworth starrer Extraction and recently completed principal photography on Extraction 2, as well as the highly anticipated The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.

The Russos will produce alongside Mike Larocca for AGBO, Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall.

Executive Producers are Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Geoff Haley, ​​Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely.

Production on The Electric State will begin this fall.
