Sooo, you’ve been thinking a lot about legendary comedians Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

A lot.

The comedy duo, comprised of Englishman Stan Laurel (1890 – 1965) and American Oliver Hardy (1892 – 1957), first appeared during the early Classical Hollywood era of American cinema. They became well known during the late 1920s to the mid-1940s for their slapstick comedy, with Laurel playing the clumsy and childlike friend of the pompous bully Hardy. They appeared as a team in 107 films, starring in 32 short silent films, 40 short sound films, and 23 full-length feature films.

Now, fans around the world will be able to take home original Stan and Ollie props, collectables, personalized letters, and more on Screenbid.com, Hollywood’s leading online auction site.

The auction, which began on March 14, features own one-of-a-kind, extremely rare, collectibles curated throughout the years of the dynamic-duo’s comedic work together.

Among the items in this auction include: personalized and autographed letters Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy and film producer Hal Roach sent to fans spanning five decades, original press books including Babes In Toyland, Swiss Miss, and Atoll K.

There is also a pair of life size statues which are fairly amazing in detail.

Hundreds of items are being made available in order to introduce film buffs and newbies into the world of Laurel and Hardy, as well as long time collectors as they will be able to own a rich part of the Stan and Ollie heritage. This is one collection that shows the worldwide appeal of these two legendary comedians.
