Lala Kent says that while she has had romantic experiences with women, she does not identify as bisexual and prefers not to label her sexuality. Speaking on the Unlikely Affair podcast, the reality television star addressed her past relationships and how she views her sexual identity today.
“I don’t believe in labels, unless you want them,” Kent said. “I’ve hooked up with chicks before, but I don’t consider myself to be bisexual.”
Kent acknowledged that she can feel attraction toward women, but said the label does not resonate with her. “I don’t believe in the label, I don’t think,” she added. The former Vanderpump Rules star was previously in a relationship with Randall Emmett from 2018 until their split in 2021. Last year, Kent opened up about how deeply the breakup affected her health.
During an appearance on the When Reality Hits podcast, she revealed that her weight dropped dramatically following the separation. “I was down to, like, 90 pounds. I couldn’t eat. I was not well. That was the most horrendous time of my life,” she said.
Kent later said she was able to move past that period and regain stability. “You’re OK. That time of your life is over, and you’re on the other side,” she explained. “It’s over. It’s done. That feels so good.”
She also expressed relief that Emmett is no longer a central presence in her life. “I love being like, ‘Your someone else’s problem,’” Kent said. “I never have to deal with him ever again!”
At the same time, Kent has previously said that she and Emmett have worked toward a functional co-parenting relationship for the sake of their daughter. Appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she explained, “We have come to a place where it’s like we have one thing in common and that is this child and what is best for her and you have productive conversations. It’s not always golden.”
Kent shares daughter Ocean, 4, with Emmett and welcomed her second child, Sosa, now 16 months old, via surrogate.
