
Comedian Kevin Hart (Jumanji, Night School) has suffered “major back injuries” in a car accident early Sunday morning in California, the state’s Highway Patrol confirmed, reports CBS Los Angeles.
A man identified as Jared Black was driving both Hart and passenger Rebecca Broxterman in the star’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Calabasas, California, when the accident occurred.
Black was turning from a road in the city when he lost control of the vehicle — sending it off the street and tumbling down an embankment, reports CBS L.A.
Police report Black was found pinned in his seat under the crushed roof and so was Broxterman, Black’s fiancé and trainer. The fire department had to saw off the roof to free them.
While Black and Broxterman were trapped in the car, Hart was able to leave the scene of the crash and get medical attention at his home. It’s reported that he walked back.
TMZ also published brief footage of emergency crews apparently working where the car when off the Malibu road.

The driver was reportedly not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the early morning collision, CBS L.A. reports.
Stars including Jumanji co-star Dwayne Johnson, Arsenio Hall, Terry Crews, CedricTheEntertainer and Rickey Smiley have taken to social media to wish Hart a speedy recovery.

Hart bought the car back in July as a 40th birthday gift to himself.
