Hinge launches second chapter of ‘It’s Funny We Met on Hinge’

Hinge

Hinge has dropped the second chapter of It’s Funny We Met on Hinge, a campaign spotlighting the surprising, often non-linear ways real couples meet and connect on the app. The work challenges the old binary of meeting “in real life” versus meeting “online,” showing that love stories today rarely fit into a single mold.

The new chapter, created by Birthday, follows seven couples from around the globe whose relationships were sparked by Hinge and deepened by shared passions, unexpected run-ins, and second chances. In some cases, matches cooled only to reignite after fate intervened offline.

Couples include Courtney and Brandon from San Francisco, who had mutual friends try to set them up before finally connecting on a group trip shortly after matching on Hinge. In New York, Raquel and Libert met briefly as teens before reconnecting years later when Libert commented on her Hinge photo. Jackson and Tyler lived in the same neighborhood and rode the same train for two years before Hinge brought them together. Watch below:

Other serendipitous connections include Jasmine and Jordan from Glasgow, who locked eyes on a train before matching on the app; Alice and Sierra, whose Pride event near-miss turned into a match days later; and Cami and Alexander, who met when he was bartending in St. Louis before a Hinge “Rose” gave them a second shot.

Tiffany and Dean from Bristol discovered they shared not only chemistry but the same tattoo artist — and that Tiffany had liked a photo of Dean’s tattoo years before they matched.

Created with creative collective Birthday and directed by India Sleem of Somesuch, the campaign will run across social and streaming platforms in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia through early 2026.

“Everybody loves a love story. And it’s the real ones, with weird edges, awkward silences and unprompted laughter, that truly connect with people at a higher level. Secret glances, slip-ups and honesty all included — it’s these resulting little moments that make the magic, reflect our humanity towards us, and lift this ongoing campaign even higher,” said Corinna Falusi, Founder and CCO, Birthday.”

Building on Hinge’s No Ordinary Love anthology, the campaign reinforces the brand’s “Designed to be Deleted” ethos by celebrating authentic relationships in all their imperfect, unexpected glory.
