
It was a good year for HBO at last night’s Emmys. It’s stellar series Watchmen won 11 gold statues including Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie (Regina King) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).
The network’s critically-acclaimed drama Succession also won seven Emmys including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding
Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jeremy Strong), Outstanding Guest
Actress in a Drama Series (Cherry Jones).
There were also other surprising highlights such as Euphoria’s Zendaya taking home a statue for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama. Other wins for the cutting-edge series included Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic).
