HBO Max to host 30-year reunion of ‘Fresh Prince’

(Fresh Prince to have unscripted reunion)

The Reel 360 team suddenly feels old. HBO Max has announced its debut of a reunion episode of the infamous 90’s sitcom, Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. The show aired from 1990-1996 on NBC, six seasons and 148 episodes. Almost 30 years later to the exact day, we can all agree, this is the episode we all desperately need.

The upcoming episode will be unscripted, and reflect on how the show made a cultural impact on today’s day and age. The reunion will bring the following sitcom regulars; Will Smith, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Alfonso Ribeiro, as well as recurring cast member DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The series also starred James Avery (who died in 2013), but will include additional surprise guests.

The show launched the success of Will Smith’s career and production company, Westbrook Media. The reunion special is scheduled to shoot the second week of September, and air around Thanksgiving. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, it will be directed by Marcus Raboy (Laugh Aid, Whitney Cummings: Can I Touch It?) and executive produced by Rikki Hughes, who will come in as showrunner, as well as Miguel Melendez, Lukas Kaiser, and Brad Haugen.
