In celebration of The Last of Us Day, HBO has released an official teaser and art by Greg Ruth for the second season of the acclaimed HBO Original drama series.
This annual event, held on September 26 and formerly known as “Outbreak Day,” marks the anniversary of the cordyceps virus outbreak within the Last of Us universe. It celebrates the franchise and its dedicated fanbase, marking its 11th year.
The story picks up five years after the first season’s events. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), having found peace, are soon confronted by their pasts, drawing them into a world fraught with new dangers and unpredictability. Season two of The Last of Us, following a record-breaking first season as HBO’s most-watched debut season, is set to premiere in 2025. The series will be available on HBO and streaming on Max.
