Havas announces Commit to Change diversity plan

(Havas commits to diversity within its offices)

Today, Havas shared its US Commit to Change plan and US agency diversity data in an effort to advance its business and industry at large. The agency has listened to the dialogue across advocacy groups, industry leaders, and its employee base at all levels in the US and beyond.

“We acknowledge the large-scale inequities that have plagued our industry for too long. But words matter little without action. So we are committing to being the change leaders for our company, industry and society. We vow to build a more diverse, inclusive and just Havas—to provide a more meaningful work experience for all.”

The team has assessed its business from end-to-end and have produced what it feels is a comprehensive US action plan that will optimize its chances of making real change in how BIPOC employees gain access and opportunity in its organization and how they experience its business overall.

In the plan, Havas commits to:

  • Data Transparency
  • More Industry Access
  • Breaking Systems and Evolving
  • Education and Ownership
  • Accelerating Careers
  • Amplifying Diverse Voices
  • Compensation Accountability

According to Havas, the plan was developed from a “360-degree assessment” of US business, best practices from category leaders, feedback from our employees and guidance from advocacy groups, such as 600 & Rising and Allyship & Action, as well as leading DEI leaders and consultants. It encompasses initiatives, actions and programs that will be enacted across Havas US, with some having potential to scale globally.

As Havas continues to learn and grow, the plan will live within its broader global DEI program All In, using the key learnings and foundation that it has developed since 2018.

Like many, Havas has its work cut out for them, but shares this plan openly with the ambition that it can create progress together across the industry.

“Its employees are the very heart of its organization, and Havas wants to thank all of them who continue to participate in this conversation and who bravely share its perspectives, ideas, thoughts and stories.”
