Harbor Picture Company has named David Brown as Executive Producer, VFX Entertainment, reinforcing its commitment to expanding and evolving its visual effects capabilities across premium film and television.
Based in Los Angeles, Brown will lead the continued growth of Harbor’s VFX offering within its entertainment division. His mandate includes scaling technology, building creative teams, and strengthening the studio’s ability to support high-end storytelling through advanced pipelines and production infrastructure.
In his new role, Brown will oversee the expansion of Harbor’s VFX services, partnering closely with filmmakers and studios on VFX-driven projects. He will collaborate with Harbor’s global leadership to align artistry with secure, scalable systems designed to improve efficiency, creative iteration, and decision-making throughout the post-production lifecycle.
Brown brings more than a decade of experience in visual effects production and leadership. Most recently, he served as Executive Producer and Business Development lead at Ingenuity VFX and Ghost VFX, where he worked with global teams on projects including The Walking Dead franchise, The Mandalorian, Shadow and Bone, The Pitt, and Fear the Walking Dead. Over the course of his career, Brown has been credited on more than 70 film and television titles spanning drama, genre, and tentpole features.
“David understands that the future of VFX sits at the intersection of craft, technology, and intelligent workflows,” said Massimo D’Avolio, EVP of Post at Harbor. “As we continue investing in talent and globally connected pipelines, David will play a key role in building a VFX department that enhances creative control while giving clients more flexible and scalable production solutions.”
Brown’s appointment follows Harbor’s broader investment in intelligent post-production infrastructure, including workflow optimization, secure global connectivity, and integrated systems that support real-time collaboration across color, sound, VFX, and editorial. The goal is to provide filmmakers with greater creative control while delivering complex projects efficiently at scale.
“I’m excited to join Harbor at a time when craft-led studios and technology are increasingly intertwined in how great work gets made,” Brown said. “Harbor’s approach focuses on empowering artists and streamlining production in ways that truly support ambitious storytelling. I look forward to building VFX teams and workflows that are as innovative as the projects they help create.”
Reel 360 News congratulates David Brown and the Harbor Picture Company team on the appointment and looks forward to seeing how the expanded VFX division continues to evolve.
