First BTS look at ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ cast

Writer/Director Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air, The Frontrunner) has tweeted a behind-the-scenes look at Ghostbusters 2020, and it gives us a first glimpse of main cast members.

Standing alongside Reitman are stars Carrie Coon, Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard and Captain Marvel’s McKenna Grace in costume alongside his father and the director of the original ’80s classic, Ivan Reitman.

The film, which will debut in summer of 2020, reportedly centers on a family who moves to a small town and discovers secrets about their own true identities. Hmmm…Dana (played by Sigourney Weaver also rumored to appear) did have a baby in Ghostbusters II.

We still know next to nothing about these characters and the story, but if one were to speculate Grace’s glasses do remind us of Egon Spengler made famous of course by the late actor/writer/director Harold Ramis. Are Wolfhard and Grace playing his grandkids?

It would make sense to keep Spengler’s legacy in the film. There are also rumors of using old unseen footage of Ramis from Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters IIin the story.

The Reel 360 team has a lot of hope for Reitman’s take. We are huge fans of the first and even the second film. The all-female 2017 reboot by director Paul Feig left a lot to be desired. Okay, we hated it.

But right now, our ectoplasm is flowing with hope and anticipation.
