Gerety Awards partners with Funny Women for 2025 Humour Jury

Gerety Funny Women

The 2025 Gerety Awards has announced a unique partnership with Funny Women, the UK-based nonprofit that empowers women through comedy, to convene a dedicated jury for the Humour category. The announcement comes as the final deadline for entries approaches on Friday, May 9.

Funny Women has been a champion of female-identifying voices in comedy since its founding in 2002, helping to build confidence and amplify creativity through performance. The Funny Women Awards—now open for 2025 with sponsorship from BBC Studios’ Funny Parts—have become a global platform for emerging comedic talent.

Named after copywriter Frances Gerety, who famously coined the line “A diamond is forever,” the Gerety Awards continues to offer a distinct lens on creativity by assembling all-female juries to honor the best in global advertising. Its mission: to celebrate campaigns that not only cut through creatively but also resonate with the world’s most powerful consumers.

This year’s Humour Cut honors excellence in comedic advertising—a category the Gerety team sees as a sophisticated art form in its own right. Votes from the Funny Women jury will contribute to the shortlist, which will be revealed in early June.

“The humour category is an important part of the Gerety winners’ showcase,” said Lucía Ongay, co-founder of the Gerety Awards. “We’ve seen some truly fabulous winners over the years, and humour is rightfully reclaiming its place in top-tier advertising. We’re thrilled to partner with Funny Women and look forward to sharing the results with their vibrant community.”

Lynne Parker, founder of Funny Women and leader of this year’s humour jury, added, “This is an amazing opportunity for our global community of producers, writers, and comedic creatives to engage with the best in advertising. Funny, original campaigns leave a lasting impact, and our jury is ready to spotlight work that genuinely makes people laugh.”

The 2025 Gerety Awards jury features a record-breaking 245 judges from 50 countries, underscoring the show’s commitment to diverse and global creative excellence. The only judging criteria? Originality of the idea and creativity in its execution.
