Generation Iron has announced the upcoming release of its latest original documentary, Robby Robinson’s Blueprint.

Directed by award-winning documentarian Vlad Yudin, the film delves into the life story of the legendary bodybuilder and his remarkable career amidst his battle with sickle cell anemia. It is set to debut on June 28th on top streaming platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Google Play, across all English-speaking territories.

Robby Robinson, often referred to as “The Black Prince,” emerged as a trailblazing figure in bodybuilding during the sport’s Golden Age. Despite facing racism and adversity, he made history as one of the first black men to grace the covers of bodybuilding magazines. Known for his advocacy for equal rights in the sport, Robinson’s impact transcended the realm of bodybuilding.

Robby Robinson’s Blueprint chronicles his entire life journey, from his challenging childhood and experiences with racism in the 1960s South to his diagnosis of sickle cell anemia and his illustrious career achievements.

The film highlights his numerous successes, including winning titles such as Mr. America, IFBB Mr. World, Mr. Universe, and Masters Olympia. Despite retreating from public view in recent years, Robinson’s passion for bodybuilding has remained unwavering. Now in his late 70s, he continues to maintain a physique that defies his age, serving as a testament to his dedication to the sport.

The documentary also explores Robinson’s present-day life and his unexpected friendship with entrepreneur Tim Taylor. Taylor’s decision to hire Robinson for a training session led to a deep bond between the two men, with Robinson sharing his transformative fitness program with Taylor. Together, they developed the 6-Step Blueprint, a comprehensive training system that encapsulates Robinson’s decades of wisdom and knowledge. Watch the trailer below:

“I’m very grateful that Robby Robinson allowed our cameras into his world after such a long time away from the spotlight,” comments Yudin. “With this film, we not only shed light on Robby’s story, we also were able to preserve his blueprint for success for generations to come.”
