Framestore has tapped celebrated creative technologist Kevin Young as its new Creative Technology Director within the company’s Immersive division. Based in London, Young will lead the push into next-generation real-time content, interactivity, spatial experience, and mixed-reality storytelling.
Young’s arrival marks a significant step forward in Framestore’s long-term strategy to fuse craft and innovation across emerging platforms. With more than 20 years of experience working at the convergence of technology and creativity, he brings deep expertise in designing experiences that blend cinematic polish with cutting-edge interactivity.
His career began in London’s music scene, where he created online experiences for artists like Oasis and comedy favorites, including The Mighty Boosh. From there, he developed innovation-driven marketing work for entertainment giants such as Disney, Fox, Lionsgate, E1, and HBO.
Young later became The Mill London’s first-ever Head of Creative Technology, leading an award-winning team across high-profile global projects. He then joined Wētā FX’s Special Projects group in New Zealand, exploring new methods of interactive and real-time storytelling.
His work has been featured by HBO, The Guardian, Samsung, Ford, Hyundai, and showcased at Sundance, Tribeca, CES, The White House, and The Future of Storytelling.
“Kevin’s ability to fuse ambitious creative ideas with breakthrough technology makes him a tremendous addition to our Immersive team,” said Karl Woolley, Global Head of Immersive at Framestore. “We’re excited to see how he elevates our creative technology capabilities.”
Young added: “Framestore’s work in immersive and creative tech has always stood out to me. Their commitment to evolving how audiences experience entertainment is inspiring, and I’m thrilled to jump in and collaborate with such a talented team.”
With Young on board, Framestore continues expanding its investment in real-time pipelines, spatial design, and immersive storytelling—further cementing its role as a global leader shaping the future of experiential content.
