Final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine reveals surprise character

Deadpool Wolverine

F*ck yeah, I’m Wolverine! Marvel Studios has unveiled the final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, and unlike the previous comedic teasers, this latest look delves into the more heartfelt dynamics between Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) and Logan (Hugh Jackman).

The trailer kicks off with Deadpool expressing to Wolverine that, in his universe, Logan is a hero (“you were the X-Men”). This version of Logan is evidently quite different, but Wade pleads for his help to save his friends from the universe-ending threat of Cassandra Nova. Wade’s plea appears to get a boost from a surprising and familiar face.

Persistent rumors have finally been confirmed as the trailer reveals Dafne Keen reprising her role as Laura, aka X-23, from Logan. This marks her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, much to the excitement of fans.

Additionally, the trailer provides a full glimpse of Lady Deadpool, action-packed scenes featuring Cassandra Nova, and much more. However, Wolverine’s iconic mask remains unseen, leaving something for the movie itself. Watch below:

The MPAA has rated the movie R for “Strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references.”

Marvel Studios describes Deadpool & Wolverine as “their most significant mistake to date.” The synopsis humorously outlines, “A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctant Wolverine. Fck. Synopses are so fcking stupid.”

Joining Reynolds and Jackman in the title roles are returning cast members Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio). Newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) also join the cast, with Corrin playing a TV agent and Macfadyen as Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier’s evil counterpart.

Directed by Shawn Levy, with a script by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit U.S. and Canadian theaters on July 26. The film will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD, and premium screens everywhere.
