Evil rings again in The Black Phone 2 trailer

The Black Phone 2

Four years after 13-year-old Finn killed his abductor and escaped, true evil refuses to stay buried—and the phone is ringing again. Welcome to The Black Phone 2.

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke returns to his most sinister role yet as The Grabber, who seeks vengeance on Finn (Mason Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw).

Now 17 and struggling to live with what happened, Finn watches as headstrong 15-year-old Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone—and seeing terrifying visions of three boys stalked at a winter camp called Alpine Lake.

Determined to end the torment for them both, Gwen convinces Finn to visit the camp during a brutal winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering link between The Grabber and their own family’s past. Together, brother and sister must face a killer who has grown more powerful in death—and more entangled with their lives—than either could imagine. Watch below:

From returning visionary writer-director Scott Derrickson, The Black Phone 2 is written by Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill, based on characters created by Joe Hill. The film is produced by Jason Blum, Derrickson and Cargill; executive producers are Ryan Turek, Adam Hendricks, Daniel Bekerman and Jason Blumenfeld.

The cast also features Oscar nominee Demián Bichir (The Nun, A Better Life) as the camp supervisor; Arianna Rivas (A Working Man) as his niece; Miguel Mora (The Black Phone) as the brother of one of The Grabber’s victims; and Jeremy Davies, returning as Finn and Gwen’s father, Terrence. New cast members include Maev Beaty (Beau Is Afraid) and Graham Abbey (Under the Banner of Heaven).

Released in 2022, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s horror phenomenon The Black Phone earned widespread critical acclaim and more than $160 million worldwide.
