Emmy Awards: HBO, HBO Max lead with 130 noms

Hosted by father-daughter duo Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) from Los Angeles and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting), the 73rd Primetime Emmy nominations were announced this morning. HBO and HBO Max have received 130 Emmy nominations.

Leading the series was Misha Green’s hit, Lovecraft Country. The series was nominated for 18 awards, the most of all the platform’s series. Besides Outstanding Drama, Jurnee Smollett was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama. Jonathan Majors, who will next appear in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as Kang the Conquerer, received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Green was also nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
