Drake Cooper is strengthening its media leadership, bringing on industry veteran Kyle Acquistapace as Executive Media Director, a newly created role at the independent agency.
Based in Boise, Acquistapace brings more than three decades of experience building and leading media practices at top agencies. Over his career, he has managed billions in billings and helped shape modern media strategy for major consumer brands.
In his new role, he will oversee the agency’s full media operation, including strategy, planning, buying, and team development. The hire comes as Drake Cooper’s media business continues to surge, with billings up 163 percent over the past six years and now at their highest level in the agency’s 48 year history.
“Our growth in media demands leadership that knows how to scale at the highest levels,” said President John Drake. “Kyle brings the strategic vision and experience to help take us into the next phase, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
Acquistapace sees the move as part of a broader shift in the industry. “Brands are increasingly turning to independent agencies that are more nimble, transparent, and closer to their markets,” he said. “Drake Cooper has already been operating that way, and I’m excited to help build on that momentum and evolve the media practice even further.”
He joins from Team One, part of Publicis Groupe, where he served as Chief Media Officer overseeing more than 100 professionals across media, analytics, experiential, and PR for luxury and premium brands. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at Deutsch LA as Partner and Director of Media and Data Strategy, leading integrated efforts across automotive, tech, and travel clients.
An Effie winner for media innovation, Acquistapace has also shared his expertise in the classroom, serving for nearly a decade as an adjunct professor at USC Annenberg, teaching media planning and analytics.
Reel 360 News wishes Kyle the best of luck in his new role.
