Independent agency Drake Cooper has acquired Orange County-based Gigasavvy, expanding its Southern California footprint and adding a roster of consumer and lifestyle clients to the employee-owned shop.
The Boise-headquartered agency, which also operates in Los Angeles, will absorb the Gigasavvy brand and continue operating an Orange County office. The combined company will move forward under the Drake Cooper name.
Founded in 2008, Gigasavvy has built a reputation around creative and design work for brands including HI-CHEW, Toshiba, AAA, Flexfit and a prominent national burger brand.
The agency’s team will join Drake Cooper, with former Gigasavvy President Kyle Johnston serving as Executive Director, Integration.

The deal brings together two independent agencies with complementary strengths. Gigasavvy adds experience across consumer and lifestyle brands, while Drake Cooper brings a broader full-service offering that includes creative, analytics, martech, interactive, media strategy, planning and buying.
“Anyone who has been through an acquisition knows that success starts with culture,” said Mindy Stomp, CEO of Drake Cooper. “From our earliest conversations with Gigasavvy, it was clear that our organizations share the same values, mindset, and commitment to doing great work for our clients and our people.”
Stomp said the acquisition will strengthen Drake Cooper’s culture, increase its presence in Southern California, and create a larger independent agency with deeper capabilities and more opportunities for clients and employee-owners.
“Amazing things can happen when good, talented people share common goals,” said Johnston. “Combining teams and processes can be a risky business, but the chemistry and shared values between our two teams were apparent very early on, and I expect that to continue as the broader teams begin to integrate.”
Johnston added that the partnership will give Gigasavvy clients access to broader expertise while creating new growth opportunities for employees within a larger organization.
For Drake Cooper, the acquisition continues its expansion beyond Boise and Los Angeles while preserving its independent, employee-owned model.
