The war for Westeros is about to intensify. HBO has released the official trailer for Season 3 of its hit original drama series House of the Dragon, offering a first look at the next chapter in the brutal Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
The eight-episode third season premieres Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will stream on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly, leading to the season finale on August 9.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and chronicles the rise, reign and eventual fracture of House Targaryen as rival factions battle for control of the Iron Throne.
Season 3 sees the return of fan favorites, including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney. Also returning are Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham. Watch the trailer below:
