For those of you out there wishing and hoping that legendary soccer star David Beckham had a twin, this might be your lucky day. Beckham takes the spotlight in Stella Artois’ highly anticipated 2025 Super Bowl commercial, where he learns a surprising family secret—he has a twin brother left behind in America.
In a playful teaser, Beckham sits down with his parents—played by actors—who drop the bombshell over a round of Stella Artois. His mother hesitantly begins, “We have something to tell you.” His father chimes in bluntly: “You have a twin we never told you about—left him in America.”
With a mix of confusion and curiosity, Beckham responds, “I always knew there was something missing.” His father quickly clarifies, “Other David.”
“You called him Other David?” Beckham asks incredulously. His dad simply responds, “If there’s two Davids, one has to be Other David.”
The parents then slide over baby photos of the two, but struggle to identify which one is which. Before things spiral further, Beckham asks the million-dollar question: “Anyway, where is he?” As suspenseful music builds, the screen cuts to black with the words “Who is Other David?” leaving viewers eagerly awaiting the full reveal on game day. Stella Artois has confirmed that “the big reveal” will come during the Super Bowl broadcast, fueling speculation about who might play Beckham’s mysterious twin.
This isn’t Beckham’s first time teaming up with Stella Artois. As the brand’s Global Ambassador, he starred in a campaign last year where he was humorously humbled in a bar after several women failed to recognize him.
Though Beckham doesn’t actually have a secret twin, he does have two siblings—an older sister, Lynne, and a younger sister, Joanne—who grew up alongside him in East London. The retired athlete has maintained a close relationship with his family, often teasing his sisters on social media. In one 2022 post, he shared a selfie at dinner with his mother, jokingly apologizing to Joanne, writing, “The 👑 was home for dinner 😂.”
Beckham has also shown his sentimental side when it comes to his broader connections, particularly with the British royal family. In a recent interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he expressed his deep admiration for the monarchy, describing himself as “a huge royalist.” Reflecting on his relationship with Prince William, Beckham shared, “Whenever the Prince of Wales sends me a message and says, ‘I need you to do this’ or ‘Be there,’ it’s always a ‘Yes.’”
While Beckham’s real-life family history remains intact, fans will have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to uncover the identity of Other David in what promises to be one of the most talked-about commercials of the night.
