Data reveals world’s favorite female superheroes

(Are you Team Captain Marvel or Team Wonder Woman?)

We’re all stoked to see female superheroes finally getting the recognition they all deserve. From Captain Marvel’s incredible power to Wonder Woman’s remarkable strength and love of humanity, each of these heroines bring something unique to the comic world.

Ahead of the female superhero films scheduled to be released, both have been delayed – Wonder Woman 1984 to October 2 and Black Widow to November 6, data analysts at Go.Frontier, an authorized reseller of Frontier Communications, wanted to know each country’s most-loved female superhero.

Go.Frontier looked at each country’s population, GDP and paid time off to determine the top 100 countries we would analyze. From there, we used the 26 female superheroes with recently released movies (13 from Marvel and 13 from DC) to determine each country’s most searched movie.

The battle royale came down between Captain Marvel, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Storm.

Sooooo, who won in the battle of the capes (truth be told only Supergirl and Storm wear capes)? The incredible Captain Marvel. From the United States to Latvia, the Marvel superheroine beat everyone else down like they were a Skrull.

Until Black Widow comes out and adds her name to this group of exceptional women that can pack a punch, here are the following superwomen that countries love:

  • Harley Quinn (getting emancipated counts as a superpower, right?) was a favorite in 12 spanish-speaking countries.
  • Wonder Woman was crowned the runner-up in many countries— a position that might change after Wonder Woman 1984’s release.
  • Supergirl ranked #1 in Brazil. It’s good her powers include flight as she’ll have to make frequent visits to her fans.
  • Storm was a favorite for Norwegians, who are not scared of a little bad weather.
