Cool hwhip! Fox gives Stewie Griffin his own show

Stewie Griffin

Stewie Griffin is officially breaking out on his own. Fox and Hulu have ordered two seasons of Stewie, a new Family Guy spin-off centered on the franchise’s scene-stealing baby. The series is slated to premiere on Fox during the 2027 to 2028 season, with next-day streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.

Produced by 20th Television Animation, the new series follows Stewie after he gets kicked out of his old preschool and is forced to attend a far less impressive new one. There, he finds himself surrounded by a group of miserable kids and a 75-year-old class turtle with opinions on just about everything. In classic Stewie fashion, boredom does not last long. The character uses his familiar arsenal of gadgets to turn ordinary school days into surreal adventures across space and time.

Seth MacFarlane will return to voice Stewie and executive produce, with Kirker Butler co-creating the series and serving as showrunner alongside executive producer Kara Vallow. The announcement marks the second Family Guy spin-off following The Cleveland Show, which ran for four seasons on Fox.

In comments reported alongside the announcement, MacFarlane thanked Fox for the opportunity and joked that he was looking forward to pretending to collaborate closely with them on the show. Butler added that after working with MacFarlane for more than two decades, he hopes this will finally be the project where Seth learns his name.

The pickup arrives as Family Guy continues its long run as one of Fox’s signature animated franchises. The series recently crossed its 450th episode, extending a run that began in 1999 and resumed in 2005 after its early cancellation.

Victory is Stewie’s.
