Chloe Fineman is saying goodbye to Studio 8H. The actress and comedian announced Thursday that she is leaving NBC’s Saturday Night Live after seven seasons, bringing an end to a memorable run that established her as one of the show’s premier impressionists.
Since joining the cast in 2019, Fineman has become known for uncanny impressions of celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Coolidge, Timothée Chalamet, Sydney Sweeney, JoJo Siwa and Meryl Streep, earning a reputation as one of the show’s most versatile performers.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Fineman thanked SNL creator Lorne Michaels and reflected on what she called “the greatest privilege of my life.” “After 7 wonderful seasons at SNL I have decided it’s time for my next chapter,” she wrote. “It’s cliché to say this but working at SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it.”
Fineman also gave fans an inside look at the emotional roller coaster of producing a live sketch show, recalling late-night costume builds, last-minute visual effects and the disappointment of seeing sketches cut before airtime.

“You sob uncontrollably when your sketch isn’t picked,” she wrote. “You storm into a producer’s office telling them they just made the biggest mistake of their lives… And then you look back a few years later and it was a sketch called ‘lipstick for thicc dogs.'”
Despite the highs and lows, Fineman said she knew it was the right moment to move on. “It’s really hard to leave SNL, but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family, and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”
Fineman’s announcement was met with an outpouring of love from fellow actors, comedians and fans. Natalie Portman praised the comedian, writing, “You’ve made us all laugh so hard for so many years! Excited for what you’ll do next.” Others celebrated her remarkable run on the show, calling her “a damn legend” and thanking her for seven seasons of unforgettable performances.
Fans also applauded her uncanny celebrity impressions, with one commenter writing, “You said ‘watch me become 12 different celebrities before your eyes’ and then did it for 7 seasons straight.” Many echoed the same sentiment: they’ll miss seeing Fineman on SNL, but are eager to watch what she does next.
Fineman is the latest cast member to depart Saturday Night Live as the long-running sketch comedy series prepares for its next season.
Reel 360 News wishes Chloe the best of luck in her new adventure.
